A funny thing happened to me on the way to the store. My cell phone called, rather texted me. Know what, it was a store. The very same store I was on my way to. Wow what a coincidence. Maybe not......
As it turns out I am one of the 280,000,000 cell phone users in the USA, part of the 87% market penetration. I am also part of the 84% of cell phone users who have their phone with them 24/7 All though I'm not part of the 80% 18 - 34 year old who text message.
I need a life one without a cell phone. I saw a story about an anthropologist who said that blue water cave diving, (top 10 dangerous sports) was the only place he was free from the encumbrances of modern life. Email and cell phone. I don't know about you but if I have to put my life in danger to escape my computer and phone I'm in trouble and not from the perils of the cave.
Peruse marketing lingo long enough and you can learn a whole new language. Some of it sounds made up to me.
I guess I'm not behaviorally accustomed to linguistically twisted babble.
The stats for mobile phone use are staggering. If you believe them we are the verge a mass invasion of txt messages and every other form of personal space invasion you can imagine.
By virtue of the fact you own a cell phone. You are electronically tethered to a mass market media invasion. Capable of a mind numbing bowel distorting barrage of electronic post consumer coupon incentives.......wow I lost track.
But you did opt in didn't you, double that is.
